Cape Town named Africa’s Leading Destination at 17th World Travel Awards

Destination Capetown staynfly.comAfter successfully hosting the  2010 FIFA World Cup™, Cape Town was named Africa’s Leading Destination  at the World Travel Award, held in Johannesburg recently. The title adds yet another feather in South Africa’s cap when the place got a  positive media and public perception of the city both before and after the soccer event.

Cape Town Tourism CEO, Mariette du-Toit Helmbold, said: “These awards are an incredible endorsement; being recognized by the industry makes all the hard work we put into hosting the FIFA World Cup™ in Cape Town so worthwhile. We do believe that Cape Town is one of the greatest cities to live, visit, study, and invest in. It’s a place of a lifetime, and it just keeps on getting better.
